I was sued by small car rental company in CA 9,5 years ago, did not hear from them till today.

Hi, I was sued in small claims court in CA 9,5 years ago for 5,000. lost, moved out of CA shortly, never heard about that till today. There is nothing on my credit report. Someone called today with threats to put a lien on my bank account. Can they do anything after these years? Thank you.

It depends whether a judgment was entered against you. If a judgment was entered against you in CA, then they may pursue you in NY.
