Asked on Mar 25th, 2014 on Collections - Rhode Island
More details to this question:
I have 3 communications from this lawyer. 1)May 8 2013 - a validation of debt as I disputed something on my credit report--- it didn't stay on my credit report 2) Certified mail From Aug 1 2013 - 4 Pages --- had moved and this arrived a bit late due to mail forwarding. -the first two had the "I am a debt collector....any information will be used for that purpose" First page was a letter saying i had been named in a lawsuit, I must answer in 21 days from the date on this letter (July 25 2013). Second page was looking like a court document, "complaint" at the top with the plaintiff and my name as well, with a C.A. number blank and the same "I am a debt collector line... at the bottom" - The third page a "summons" with no court date or file no. 3) Fast forward to last Friday, Mar 21. In the mail I received a non-certified mailing with 4 pages - first a notice and motion to attach wages, with a hearing date on 4/11 with an objection date of 4/9

If you were defaulted improperly you will need to take action to vacate the default. I would need to know more about the debt and your financial situation before I could advise you further. Feel free to call.  401 732-4420
