we live in florida. on sept 16 someone left their car on my lawn. on sept 28 a police report was made. we placed an ad in the newspaper in October. what legal rights do we have to recover our expenses. the car is still here

Recover the expenses from whom and how? You may need to hire a lawyer to address having the vehicle lawfully towed or disposed of as abandoned. If you know the owner the easiest thing is to find them and deal with them directly - not indirectly with published notices in news papers.
