QUESTION

Payday loan collection agency calling

Asked on May 05th, 2014 on Collections - Florida
More details to this question:
I took out a payday loan in 2005 and I don't know if I paid them back or not. Now I am getting calls from this harrassing agency saying that I owe $350 and I need to pay right away. I am so unsure of the fact that I owe this. I cannot recollect if I paid it or not. This company has not sent me any information about this debt they claim they emailed me and I never received the email. They claim I told them I got it and I was recorded. I kindly made one payment towards the bill and then didn't make any other payments and asked them for a letter to be mailed to my home. They got very nasty and said that is snail mail what if we email you. I said I wanted a letter. Then they hung up. I called back and they wouldn't give me the name of their company. This has already been over 5 years. I was just trying to get a letter to recall the debt. They claim since I made a payment I agree with the debt. They were so nasty to me. I want to work out what should I do? They claim my case is closed now.

No way to tell. MOst payday loan or short term online loans in general are scams and ID theft fishing holes. Check you credit report to see if there is indication of who you owe and deal with them. Never pay anyone any money simplybecause they call you or email you. If you have questions and would like a FREE consultation, simply contact our office at 1-800-922-6442.
