Question regarding judgement/garnishment

Asked on Feb 07th, 2017 on Debtor and Creditor - Florida
More details to this question:
Just received a notice of garnishment for a judgement against me in 2004 that I knew nothing about! I'm doing research on the company and they are a predator collector, famous for using dead addresses for notification in order to run up interest and fees. I believe I can quality for "head of household" exception but am curious about a point. It seems the judgement was sold or assigned several times. How can I find out who currently owns the judgement and when they were assigned or purchased it?

Your best bet is to hire a lawyer to address the judgement/service issue ASAP. Judgments are good for 20 years and its possible they will catch you without an exemption while the judgment increases in value or make you miserable trying to collect it.
