QUESTION

Service of Process

Asked on Nov 04th, 2016 on Collections - Tennessee
More details to this question:
What will happen when I go to court on this matter? Can the court release information on "process of service"? I found out through the mail, by receiving notices from attorney's offices, that I'm being sued by a company. Court records show I have a court date set and I have been served. I wasn't served any papers and don't have knowledge of this company.

If you are close enough, I would suggest that you go to the clerks office of the court where you were sued and have them pull the file and get copies of the papers that say how you were served. This is a public record. You might want to consider hiring an attorney to represent you.
