QUESTION

Should I even move forward`

Asked on Jun 10th, 2017 on Collections - Florida
More details to this question:
Long story short, I was dating a man down on his luck. Whenever we went out, I always footed the bill. Turns out he was lying about being broke, but not only did he tell me verbally he could pay me back, but I also have a text message stating hed pay me back. Now he is saying he "can" pay me back, but he didnt say he "will". I gave him the option to pay me back, or Id have him served and his response was "serve me ***" Should I just throw out the entire small claim case? Am I wasting my time and effort even though I have evidence?

Its a crap shoot. Dating is not a contract. Whether you can prove he owes you money in court is a longshot so odds are you are wasting your time. In the future be more selective of whom you date.
