Asked on Mar 08th, 2013 on Debtor and Creditor - New York
More details to this question:
I am currently active duty military stationed in NC. I was just denied a mortgage loan because a judgement from a LR Credit 18 from New York popped up on my credit report in January. I have lived in NC For the last 4 years and before that I was stationed in California. I have no idea what this is.I have never received anything in the mail or telephone calls or anything. What should I do?

I would suggest you contact a lawyer to review the court records to determine whether an action has been cmmenced against you and whether a judgment has been entered. If so, you will want to bring an order to show cause to vacate and stay the proceedings. In addition, you should dispute the debt with the credit reporting bureaus.
