More details to this question:
I had a car repossessed around july of 2010 what is the statue of limitations on being sued for the balance due. I personally never sign or received any notices regarding the resale of the vehicle due to the fact I had moved away and they did not have a forwarding address. when the car was repoed it was being driven by someone else. can they still sue me for the balance due. I am trying to remove it from my credit report or at least update it to the correct amount that is due (they have it wrong).

Typically 5 years from breach, but there are a lot of variables. Bottom line is you wont likely get it removed from your credit report but it is supposed to be reported accurately. If you have any further questions feel free to call 1-800-922-6442 for a FREE consultation.
