what to do if sued by creditor

More details to this question:
I enrolled in a debt consolidation program been paying $300.00 a month but just now found out I am still being sued by one of the creditors that I thought were being paid now what do I do. I live on Soc Sec and cannot pay more than that neither can't have a judgment against me because I do not have enough to live on as is. I am so afraid that they freeze my bank account. How wiill I pay my monthly bills? will they take my car? I still have a mortgage against my house that I am paying. What should I do? court date is 5th of April 2024

I would recommend recahing out to a local bankruptcy, consumer protection, or debt defense attorney as they can probably guide you on some potential options. There may be options and defenses that you could raise if you decide the defend the lawsuit.
