QUESTION

Able yo filr in texas?

Asked on Jan 25th, 2013 on Divorce - Texas
More details to this question:
I am a soldier with Texas as my home of record, I am currently stationed in Oahu, Hawai'i. My wife has fled the state with our child, and gone to her home state or AR. I need to know if it is possible for me to file in TX. If possible, no further questions. If not, I will be PCSibg to ft. Riley in March, I nee to know the residency restrictions I will be dealing with. If I am able to file in TX, a lawyer referal with some military knowledge would be great.

You can file for divorce in Texas since it is your home state, the question will be whether the Court has jurisdiction over your wife and child to decide certain issues.  I would need more information from you to determine that.  You can call my office at 210-222-1225 to set up a free phone consultation.
