Can a person get married in one state while going through a divorce in another state

I'm getting married in the state of Texas real soon, but my divorce is not finalized in the state of Illinois. Can I still get married while I wait?

No. You cannot be married to two people at the same time. There's also a waiting period before you can get married again.
