Asked on Apr 22nd, 2013 on Divorce - Michigan
More details to this question:
I am 17 years old and want to get emancipated. My parents disagree but I canโ€™t live with them anymore due to our family problems. I will be finishing my senior year and I plan to get a job, a car and a license if I can leave.

You will have to prove you can support and provide for yourself PRIOR to your emancipation if it is contested.

Emancipation is without consent of the parents, it is with the court's consent. You will have to file a petition and have a real good reason for the emancipation. You will have to show that you are capable of supporting yourself.

The court wants to see you are self sufficient so you need a job first and a place to live.

Potentially but you must meet the qualifications including having the ability to support yourself. (Not planning it actually having the ability)
