Can I obtain a divorce from someone in jail?

More details to this question:
My husband has a 15 to 30 year sentence and I want a divorce. What is the best way to do this? We had one child together and bought a house together. He has been in now for 8 years.

Yes, you can divorce someone in prison. We can give him notice while in prison and move forward. Speak with an attorney regarding your options, as you do have options.

Yes you can. Go down the Courthouse and talk with the Clerk of Courts. You will receive written instructions on how to proceed. In the alternative, hire an attorney to assist you. Good luck.
