Can I request counseling before divorce goes though?

My wife has file for divorce.

There is no requirement for counseling. Sometimes its ordered for Parenting issues.

You can request it but your wife has no obligation to participate.

The courts do not provide counseling for parties, they will only provide mediation for child custody disputes. Your wife is under no obligation to attend counseling with you before seeking a Judgment of Dissolution.

Louisiana is a no-fault divorce state. There is no provision under Louisiana law requiring a party to a divorce to undergo counseling prior to a granting of a divorce.
