I got divorced on May 2012 not knowing the alimony was for man. I did not know. My ex-wife told me that alimony was only for women. Anyway I did moved back on my former country. By the time I got divorced, I wasn't working anymore.
I would need to see the judgment of dissolution. If it says spousal support reserved then you can ask for support. If there was no such reservation then you are probably out of luck.
Normally you can't change the terms of a judgment more than six months after it has been filed in court. There are certain provisions under California Family Code section 2122 that may enable you to challenge a judgment up to two years after, but this is not an easy thing to do. I suggest you speak to a family law attorney who can explain this more thoroughly.
It will depend on what the final judgment for divorce indicates as to alimony but it is not likely. If for some reason the issue of alimony was reserved then there may be a possibility to obtain alimony. However, I suspect that you likely waived alimony in your divorce judgment which means you will not be able to collect it. I suggest you read your divorce judgment to determine your options.
