Can one spouse get everything in a divorce?

More details to this question:
In an uncontested divorce in a state with equitable distribution laws, can one spouse give everything to the other? Will the court see this as unfair or can the couple do whatever they want?

A deal is a deal, it should be reduced to writing. Use of alawyer is recommended.

Generally, if you are otherwise competent and know what you are doing, parties are free to enter into settlement agreements that are one-sided.

The decision is up to the Judge. In an uncontested matter the Judge may asks questions to clarify as to why this is in the best interests of the parties.

Whoever is asking this question needs to get an attorney. The plan of distribution agreed to by the parties will not be looked into much, as long as everything is agreed.

The spouses may do whatever they wish with regard to equitable distribution. If both spouses indicate that is what they want the court will not do otherwise.
