QUESTION

Could documents not brought up in pre-trial be an appearance of impropriety?

Asked on Oct 02nd, 2012 on Divorce - Michigan
More details to this question:
My divorce attorney is friends with husband's niece. My attorney did not fight for me. I supplied her with excellent documentation of finances and showed proof of his lies in his deposition. She did not even bring this up when we went to court for pre-trial.

A pretrial conference is merely for the scheduling of the trial. It is not the time or place to discuss the evidence or merits of case that will occur at the trial.

Hard to say not knowing the information you presented and what it has to do with the existence of assets as of the filing of the divorce.

I would have to have more information. Generally, if you are unsure of your attorney you should strongly consider a second opinion, and if it confirms your opinion, replacing her.
