Do I need my husband signature for a divorce if he left me over 3 yrs ago. He is giving me a hard time.

I have asked him several times to sit down and discuss. I also had a document drawn up when I had coverage at my old job. He is now living in another county. I will gladly take any advice you may have for me. Thank you

It is not required that you have your husband's signature in order to obtain a divorce in New York. The more important issue is that you are able to locate your spouse in order to have him served with the Summons for divorce. Once he is served, if he fails to actually file an appearance with the Court to contest the divorce within a certain period, you may proceed on obtaining a Judgment of Divorce by default (without his signature).

You don't need a signature from your spouse to get divorced in any case. What you need is to consult a local divorce attorney and file a case.
