QUESTION

Does it void my marriage contract if my birth date is wrong on it?

Asked on Nov 18th, 2013 on Divorce - California
More details to this question:
I didn't lie on the document. The actual date of my birth wasn't revealed until recently. I am in the process of legalizing my citizenship. Will I have to remarry in order to legalize the document or will I simply need to correct the error on the paper?

its a typographical error so it will probably not have any effect .. if you can correct the marriage certificate formally.

Hopefully this is good news but your marriage is valid. You just need to get your marriage certificate corrected. My answer assumes that when you got your original marriage license that you were truthful and honest with your local county clerk as to your birthday and other identification information.

It should have no effect on your marriage. It was a valid mistake. The birth dates on marriage certificates are really only for government statistics. Good luck
