Does lack of cohabitation affect alimony?

More details to this question:
Married 12 years to same man; he is sole financial contributor. Have been ill most of our marriage and am now disabled. For various reasons, we have maintained separate residences. He pays for both. Will this lack of cohabitation during our marriage affect my possible alimony or divorce in general?

One of your issues will be the date of separation which would affect spousal support.  Another factor would be whether he owned the properties prior to the marriage and if you pay rent or some money toward the property in which you live.  However, you can still get divorced even though you reside in different homes.
