You would need to seek an order for child support or go to Department of Child Support Services and they would seek the support. It does not matter if you are the mother or father, child support is for the care of children and would be based on each parties income and how much time the child spends with each parent.

Both parents are required to support their children. Without a court order the mother is not ordered to pay support. The father needs to file a custody, visitation and child support action and ask the court to order mother to pay child support. Or the father may open a case with the Department of Child Support Services and they will handle obtaining an order for almost no cost. However, it will take them longer to get the order then if you hire an attorney or even if you try to do it yourself.

Yes, both parents have the duty to support their children. Support is determined by the amount of time the children spend with each parent and the gross incomes of the parents.

Child support is based upon both parties' monthly net income and percentage of parenting time. An attorney would have to properly input this information and determine if there is in fact a child support obligation. I do not know the extent of father's income and whether mother exercises any parenting time. There may be a child support obligation, but an attorney would review and negotiate the most favorable support obligation possible.

Child support is based on income and time spent with the children. It has absolutely nothing to do with the sex of the person. If she makes more and has less time, go after her for support.
