QUESTION

Ex filiing for motion

Asked on May 01st, 2014 on Divorce - New York
More details to this question:
after being legally separated for over 7 years, our divorce will finally be signed by the courts. however, my ex's attorney has threatened to file a motion unless i make changes granting things such as: i pay 100% childrens medical copays; 100% marital home repairs..that she resides in with kids; pay children an allowance, provide 100% costs of childrens clothes and extracurricular activities and even food. these were all split 50/50 till this letter was recently received. Will she have any right to any of this being that we have lived with our separation agreement for the past 7 years as is? she claims she is sick, not sure mentally or physically, but no proof of this. she fell after leaving a bar 1.5 years ago, and that is her supposed injury. how is this my problem?

Without reviewing the documents you have signed it's impossible to be certain what the possibilities are - but if you're trying to litigate against an attorney you're going to be at a serious disadvantage.
