Asked on Oct 26th, 2013 on Divorce - Florida
More details to this question:
I have been with my husband for 13 years. We have only been married since September 18, 2013. I need to know what I need to do to get out of this marriage. We have 2 kids together and I am the only income in the house. He does stay at home to watch the kids and he has not worked since 2009. I need to know also if I will have to pay for spousal support?

Because there are 2 children, you'll probably not qualify for an annulment. Marriage too short for husband to make out a strong case for spousal support.

This is a complex issue that should be addressed only after more information is obtained. While I certainly understand why you posted the question on a website, the best advice I can give you is to speak to an attorney who regularly practices in this area.

Don't know. I doubt that annulment is applicable, you will probably have to get divorced. I also doubt that you will have to pay spousal maintenance but he may very likely have to pay child support. Find a good family law attorney in your area and talk with him or her about it.

You need to see a local attorney or contact your County Legal Aid office. As to alimony, that is on a case by case basis by the Judge.
