You will need to make an attempt to serve him in prison. Contact a family law attorney with experience serving prisoners.

The same way you do when he isn't in prison. You file for divorce and have him served. It will be easier to have him served in prison because they know where he is.

You can file for divorce just like you would any other divorce. When it comes to serving him with the papers, though, you have to go through the warden's office. I would suggest that you confer with a qualified divorce attorney, especially if you have children with him.

You can divorce your husband, in Michigan, under the normal procedures. The fact that he is in prison does not change that reality.
