How can i legally protect myself from a prospective divorce?

I immigrated to US from Pakistan in October 2013 after two years of my marriage with a Pakistani born American citizen. I got my green card in the first month and a job in a CPA firm in NYC, NY. My wife lives in Rochester, NY with her parents. She delayed and denied moving in with me in NYC time and again. Later, she got pregnant with my child in April 2014 and now using that as a reason to prolong her stay in Rochester. In nutshell, this marriage is falling apart for irreconcilable differences and will lead to a divorce. For all the matters explained earlier, I need to know my legal standing and advice on how should i proceed with the situation? Please identify the legal implication this falling marriage (divorce) and the child would carry on my life and future in US. I have a couple of specific questions as well - Is it going to affect my legal working status in US? - Is it going to trigger any reason for deportation? - What are my legal rights and responsibilities (in terms of ti

If you have a green card and you can demonstrate that your marriage was not for immigration purposes you have no issue relating to deportation or right to work. You have a responsibility to support your child. There may be issues beyond the above. For analysis you should consult with a local attorney.
