You need to check at the courthouse where your case was filed. You need to find out if a Judgment was ever entered in your case and if you were restored to the status of a single person. Some counties have this information available online. For instance, in Orange County, you just need to look up your case and you will be able to see if the dissolution (divorce) was ever granted.

Do you have a case number for the divorce? If you have a case number you can pull up the docket online or go to the court house and check the paperwork.

You will need to go to the court and examine the court file. If you do not find a final Judgment then you will need to consult a family law attorney about what needs to be done to complete the process.

You need to request a certified copy of any divorce decree from the Superior Court where the action was filed. You can use most any attorney service to do so or you can simply go to the clerk's office at courthouse yourself. Depending on the court, you may be able to look online at the status of the action and whether or not a divorce decree was in fact entered.
