She tells me she talked to the police and sounds like she knows someone. They will be no help to me. From what she says they are telling her, they may not know what they are talking about. She also texted me that she sold the stuff to pay bills and I never gave her a list.

Sue her. If there was a divorce, the property should have been addressed in the divorce decree. If there was no divorce, sue her for the value of your goods.
