QUESTION

How do you qualify for annulment in Colorado?

Asked on Sep 10th, 2012 on Divorce - Colorado
More details to this question:
My husband rushed me into marraige using all of the right religius angels. Now I am figuring out that he just wanted to use the opportunity to live in my home and use and abuse me sexually. And after he assaulted a young boy and is facing charges I find out that he has two prior assume cases on his record... It's only been 4 months is this justifiable for annulment or do I have to go through a full divorce?

First, you need to understand that the basic process of having the marriage declared invalid (Colorado no long has "annulment") is no easier or simpler than divorce. Second, without more detail it isn't possible to determine whether your situation qualifies for asking a court to declare the marriage invalid. But, because there are time limits for some reasons, it is important that you consult an attorney in person as soon as possible to find out your options.
