QUESTION

How is equitable distribution of marital property determined when spouse left 2 years ago?

Asked on Apr 22nd, 2015 on Divorce - New York
More details to this question:
My spouse and I agreed to divorce in 2012. We lived together, until June 2013, when he decided he no longer wanted to live there. He took furniture and all his personal items from the home. I recenty filed for uncontested divorce. He previously stated he would sign the papers if I filed and paid for them. He is now interested in getting something from items that we purchased while married. What is he entitled to? He already removed items from the home as well. The home was purchased by me prior to marriage.

Equitable distribution is determined after an analysis of the economic basis of each item that is marital property.
