QUESTION

How long does it take for a divorce to be finalized after being only married since 6 months?

Asked on Oct 10th, 2013 on Divorce - California
More details to this question:
My husband served me with divorce papers and he is planning to leave the country. I want to make sure that we are divorced before he leaves. Itโ€™s a pretty simple divorce no kids, no house, one bank account with no money in it and no cars together.

The minimum is 6 months and one day before you can be declared to be single again. I don't know why you d id not file a joint petition for summary dissolution. then you or he could complete the papers.
