QUESTION

How long does my attorney have to file his brief after the trial ends?

Asked on Feb 21st, 2013 on Divorce - New York
More details to this question:
My divorce trial ended April 2012. I am still waiting for him to file his brief to the Court. I have a court order dated september 09 for child support that is not being enforced. I have a house going into foreclosure. I have lost my savings, retirement, inheritance and now my house while this case rolls around the court system. Do i have any rights in this matter? Is there a time limit to how long the lawyers can sit on this case?

It's not clear what you mean by a brief after a trial. Usually the trial ends with a decision.
