How long would I have to wait before I may get married again in Texas?

More details to this question:
I was first married in Louisiana and the divorce proceeding and judgment are being held in Louisiana.

Wait for a judge to sign your final decree or your remarriage will not be valid. The decree is subject to possible direct appeal for at least 30 days after signing as well.

If your divorce happened in Texas the waiting period (i.e. the time for filing a motion for new trial in the divorce case) is 30 days. I can't speak for Louisiana, but 30 days is probably pretty close there as well. Why such a hurry?
