My soon to be ex filed for divorce. We have no assets together, and only been married for a year. His lawyer advised him not to communicate with me. I agree to divorce as well. We have a face to face meeting soon. What goes on these meetings? The lawyer suggests I get attourney. I thought I didn't need one since we don't have anything together. You should bring an attorney to the meeting - it will serve as a protection for you in case there are any issues in which your rights might be impaired or limited.
