I would suggest that you consult with an experienced family law attorney in your area to discuss your rights and obligations. Do not rely on information that your husband provides you without independently checking it out.

Follow your counsel's advice regarding your shared assets and protecting yourself. If he is now talking, it is a reasonable assumption he has been in planning mode for some time.

If you know in your heart of hearts that you want to divorce him, hire your own lawyer to file the Complaint for Divorce and get the ball rolling - you should not simply wait around for your husband to initiate the case. If you do not want to get a divorce, perhaps suggest marital counseling (assuming the two of you have not yet tried marital counseling).
