And still have not received any support I am out of home do to his abusive acts and he is holding all my personal items as hostage for leaving him... He has admitted to having an affair.. My lawyer insists this is a process but meanwhile I am at a loss

Have you had a preliminary conference? Reached any stipulations? Your lawyer should be able to guide you - it IS a process.
