We were married for 31 yrs. We both work fulltime during those years. Divorced in year2000. QUDRO was very confusing to read and my lawyer did not help any. I thought i was entitled to half of her pension and she gets a half of mine. The QUADRO states that she gets a half of my pension only and nothing about her pension. Her lawyer mirriage broker met with the judge and the judge award her a half of my pension. Now under NEW York divorce laws, arren't i also entitled to a half of her pension which was accumulated during the mirriage.? Eventhough not stated in the QUDRO? She actually will collect two pensions plus a half of my pension. She worked for two different employers and is vested with both. Thanks.
If your divorce dates back 14 years and you didn't deal with the issue then you're probably too late. But you can have your settlement and/or judgment of divorce reviewed to see if you still have any options.
