Hello, I am seeking a dissolution of a union from my wife with whom I was married to in a native traditional way back in Lagos, Nigeria since 1993. Currently there has been impasse between us spanning 2 years, I believe the safe way to go without hurting each other is to call it quits. As of now we still leave under the same roof, a house we both built in 2002. We have a few properties at play in that we had acquired together during the period we've been together, 1992, much of it she's trying to snatch by all means, this precisely is why I'll need legal experties like you. Thank you.
Property held in joint names should be distributed evenly. However, if there is an asset, like a bank account, in joint names, either party has the right to go in an withdraw the full amount of that account. Joint properties (real estate) cannot be sold with out consent of both parties.
