QUESTION

Should my ex-husband pay for my daughter's college?

Asked on Apr 24th, 2013 on Divorce - Texas
More details to this question:
My husband divorced me in 2005. He had a girlfriend and left my daughter who was a junior in high school and myself. I did receive $30,000 which was half of his retirement and $800 a month for child support. I bought myself a $16,000 5 year old Jeep that was in good running condition and the rest I used to help pay our rent and help our daughter to get into college. He just continued making her car payment. I paid her car insurance and cell phone. I was told today that he was required to pay for her college and he paid nothing! Is this true and is it too late for him to pick up paying for her loans?

The Texas court has no authority to order child support payments beyond the child's graduation from high school.
