QUESTION

What are the differences in the case number designations of "FL" and "CP"?

Asked on Dec 13th, 2012 on Divorce - California
More details to this question:
I have a relatively complicated case with two mother's in my life, both of whom have had CPS investigate them for alleged abuse. Now both cases have the CP designation and I understand that provides my children some level of privacy as to protect them from any adverse consequences or prejudice.

Fl is family law. CP is probably child protection but check on your courts website. My guess is the cases are now in juvenile court as CPS is involved. Or ask a local attorney.
