QUESTION

What can I do to speed the divorce up?

Asked on Oct 15th, 2013 on Divorce - Texas
More details to this question:
I filed for divorce from my wife over a year ago. I have an attorney that is worthless from what I can tell. I already paid child support and a final decree was written. She did not agree with it so I agreed to the changes she wanted. Now for the past 4 months, we have been waiting for her lawyer to respond with the changed decree. After numerous emails and phone calls nothing is happening. I cannot move on until this is final. Please help.

You have the right to hire another lawyer if you believe your attorney is not moving the case along. It would be wise to press your current lawyer for help rather than incur the expenses of change lawyers when you are close to completion of the divorce.
