Typically, in Florida, you file for divorce in the county where you last resided together as Husband and Wife with the intent to remain married. If neither of you live in that county any longer, then you should file in the county where the children reside, if there are children of the marriage. If there are no children and you both have moved, then you can file in the county where you reside. If you are uncertain how to proceed, you should hire an attorney to assist you.

If you have lived in Wisconsin for at least 6 months, you can file in any county where either you or your spouse have resided for at least 30 days. Find a good divorce lawyer: it's almost always worth the investment. Good Luck.

Technically you can file in any county in the state where you are a resident, however, typically you would file in the county where you live or the county where your spouse lives, or if you both will have lawyers in or near a certain county, you can file there too. Your spouse may ask to transfer the case to another county if you file to make it hard for them to participate in the lawsuit.
