QUESTION

What is a mediation conference report?

Asked on Sep 17th, 2013 on Divorce - Florida
More details to this question:
My fiancee filed for divorce and was supposed to go to mediation last October. The mediation was cancelled. On the clerk of courts website, under the divorce it says that there is a mediation conference report dated 10/16/2012. The mediation was supposed to take place on 10/19/12, and it was cancelled. Could this mean there was some sort of mediation or that the divorce was simply cancelled?

The mediation conference report dated 10/16 is most likely a report from the mediator stating that the parties canceled the mediation. This does not mean that the divorce was canceled, only that the mediation was canceled. There can be numerous reasons why mediation was canceled such as unavailability of one party or lawyer or the mediator.  Most likely another mediation will be scheduled, or possibly they reached an agreement between themselves and wont need to go to mediation.
