QUESTION

Am I allowed to drink while on probation?

Asked on Jul 11th, 2013 on DUI/DWI - Michigan
More details to this question:
I was charged and convicted for a driving under the influence a week ago. I have a suspended license and now currently on probation for the next 6 months. Part of my probation is that I get urine tested twice a week for illegal substances. I was told if I complete the three classes I must take as soon as possible, I have the potential to get off probation earlier. I am of legal age to drink and I will not drive but only drinking socially on weekends. I do not plan to drink during the week since I am working and typically do not anyways. I have only met with my probation officer once for an introduction but I neglected to ask that question. This is my first offense.

Look at the terms and conditions of your probation. Also, if it is allowed under the terms of your treatment. Perhaps you should ask your PO.

It depends on the courts Order. Some Judges say zero alcohol.

You need to review the papers that you received from the court. You will find your conditions of probation.

Most probation orders ban drinking at all. I would not do it.
