Can I ignore a jaywalking ticket if the cop listed wrong information?

I received a jaywalking ticket from a cop who listed my information incorrectly.

No you can't. You will get either a judgment or warrant against you if you do.

No you can't, because a warrant will be issued, and you will face a misdemeanor FTA charge.

You should go talk to the court clerk and see what you need to do. If you ignore it the court may issue a warrant for your arrest.

Incorrect information on a ticket can be corrected by the police officer at any time, up to and including the court date. Usually, incorrect information is not enough to justify dismissing a ticket, unless the address of the location of the offense is wrong.

Just because there are "typos" on the ticket (like listing your wrong date of birth or driver license number, for example) does not necessarily mean the case will be automatically dismissed outright. Your better bet is to request a court date and try to negotiate a deal to minimize the impact of the ticket on your criminal record, or, if the ticket is simply a civil infraction and not a misdemeanor, to request a reduction of the fine.

Do not ignore the ticket. You may have a defense if it was not properly filled out. To assert that defense you will have to respond to the ticket. You should consult an attorney to assist you in this matter.
