How can I get a DUI reduced to negligent driving?

More details to this question:
My son go a DUI, his first ever violation. He is 24 yrs old, we live in California. There was an accident involving a head on collision, the other driver also received a DUI charge. CHP has indicated my son is the responsible party with the other driver being a contributor. His BAC was .12. The traffic offense was failing to yield to oncoming traffic. What are the chances of getting this reduced?

I'm assuming there were no injuries, if there were it could be filed as a felony. Unless there is some problem with the people's case in most counties in California it would be hard to get it reduce, especially since there was an accident involved.

It sounds unlikely, but your son needs a lawyer. There may also be a civil case so your son needs to be careful so the criminal case does not affect the civil case.

The chances of getting the DUI reduced is slim, especially with the crash and the 0.12 BAC. He should retain an attorney since the accident could add additional penalties to his sentence.
