I paid an attorney to fight for my son's DUI case. He told us it was dismissed and all was good. My son got arrested for failure to appear with a 60,000 bail for the DUI. How can I get proof that the attorney really had it dismissed?

Go to the clerk's office at the courthouse where the case was filed and ask for a copy of the docket sheet for your son's case. That will tell you what happened in the case and whether or not it was dismissed.

If the case was really dismissed, there would be a record of it with the court. Pull the file from the court. If you need an immediate answer and have the case number, you can look at the docket online with the court. You may need to have a conversation with your son's prior attorney.

If your son got arrested on a failure to appear on the same case, it wasn't dismissed. The two actions are mutually exclusive. To confirm you can go to the court clerk and get a copy of your sons docket. It's more likely that You need to file a complaint with the state bar.
