QUESTION

How long will it take to DA in filing the DUI case?

Asked on Dec 04th, 2012 on DUI/DWI - California
More details to this question:
I was arrested on July 4 1:20 am. Still haven't heard from the DA. Is this normal? Can I start taking classes or should I wait? My alcohol level was .08 in one reading and .11 in another. What should I do? I do not have money for an attorney.

You will need to take classes to get your license back. You should have heard before now. You can talk to a public defender.

How long will it take ? As long as they like, up to a year when the statute of limitations expires. There is no reason for you to do anything until formally charged in court, except to occasionally check with the court to verify no charges have yet been filed. If you keep bugging the DA, it could remind them to file.
