I was driving my car over the legal limit and crashed into a small tree on a median. I then left after a man was profusely yelling at me to run and got into my friend’s car where he then was taking me home when we got pulled over not very far from the crash site. He received no moving violations or tickets whatsoever. The police had me exit the vehicle and arrested me for a DUI.
That could be a good case. It depends on the evidence connecting you and your friends car to the minor accident. Time and distance plus whether a witness can put you there etc. If there is evidence to connect the car (or passengers of the car) driving away from scene of accident to accident, then likely can pull over and investigate, including arrest.
