QUESTION

Is this considered a DUI on his DMV record or an expunged conviction?

Asked on Sep 08th, 2014 on DUI/DWI - California
More details to this question:
My son's Juvenile DUI petition was sustained and then dismissed after he completed probation so that it will not appear as a conviction on his criminal record as a prior offense. However, he previously lost his initial DMV hearing and had his license suspended for 1 year. Will this show as a DUI on his DMV record for 10 years even though the petition was dismissed and is not a priorable criminal conviction, as opposed to a conviction that was later expunged?
